The 26th and 27th of November it’s our special annual Studio Day to do your ‘bespoke’ Christmas shopping. All hand engravings are free (even the wicked ones) and done whilst you wait. Together with our Dutch Chocolate treat (and those not driving maybe a second shot) will make your rural day complete. Other days you are of course also welcome, but please give us a ring in advance, sometimes we also have to do some shopping!, 01434 270331.
Our Window feeder, hand made from recycled British roofing slate, is one of Slate and Nature’s most popular products. Over the last few years, worldwide, over 3000 windows are transformed into a bird display. This specially designed feeder, is slowly conquering the world, from Tokyo Japan, Johannesburg Africa, Missouri USA, to Finland, Turkey etc. Nationally and internationally appreciated and enjoyed to watch and observe your feathered friends from close by. It has become a wonderful gift for your birds, your self, friends and family, no-matter what age, gender or who you are… everybody likes it.
‘This a great design, I already know where to put it!’

Sorry we don’t know yet what to expect, but we liked the shooting; it was fun. Amazing what the crew & participants were doing. Gerard is not a ‘natural’ actor as he couldn’t keep his story-line constant. Every-time something new ‘popped-op’ driving the crew crazy, but they kept friendly and just said, ‘again, but now….’ Now it appears that (software) editing is mighty professional and it was possible to stitch something together; lets keep our finger crossed…. tbc..

Avoid smelly & spattering surprises while strimming your grass.

The holder can be engraved with your dog’s name, house name, …….. and costs £ 44.-.
Our Slate & Nature Beauty Contest is over! The 2016 Beauty Queen arrives into this world and she is soooo cute. I watched her and her 5 Blue tit siblings arriving onto our river side terrace this weekend. The first new borns from this bird box, but from our other Blue tit box, we already had the 8th generation.
The man and his shed;… according to Wikipedia… The Shed appeals to the culture of “blokes” who do woodwork or metalwork DIY projects in their sheds…. At Slate & Nature we received a request to make something for Father’s Day related to a ‘just finished project; Daddy’s Den. As the nation is already ‘stuffed’ with ‘roped’ signs, Gerard needed to make his version on the matter; a multipurpose roofed slate sign (Engraved or Blank). For the customer it was engraved towards 6 different uses (from Closed, Working, Beer O’Clock, Guest Suite, Mummy’s…) but can be used for Timing; I am back at … 5…20 min, Activities; Rooms to… clean, tidy, hoover…. Endless possibilities. Enjoy your Father’s Day!
