Our Fair season is starting again. The coming months we will be at:
Saturday 23rd April; Hexham Spring Fair
Saturday-Monday 30th April, 1st/2nd May; Penshurst Weald of Kent show
Thursday-Sunday 5th-8th May; Hatfield Craft show
Friday-Monday 27th/30th May; Ideal Home show Glasgow
Friday-Sunday 1st-3rd July; Scottish Game Fair Perth
Although there will be somebody at home most of the times, our studio will be closed because all our stock will be at the fairs!
Sunday the 6th of March 2016 we will be at the 21st Annual Potato Day and Green fair in Kelso. If you are looking for seed potatoes, there will be over 100 varieties available. There will also be a Green fair, with some lovely craft stalls. Gerard made specially for this event some Potato Plant tags. Please come and see us. We will be there from 11am till 3pm – at the Border Union Showground.
‘Top tourist attractions put the regional spotlight on Tynedale, West Woodburn’s garden craft business, Slate and Nature, set up by Dutch couple Gerard and Jeanette van der Veen, has been nominated for the sustainable tourism award ………… Gerard said their nomination was a real tribute to his and his wife’s small business. We are thrilled to showcase Slate and Nature’s sustainability as we enjoy re-using the earth’s oldest material without leaving a footprint behind ………..’

Jeanette & I were very pleased that Monty Don took his time to visit our stand at the 40th Hatfield Craft Fair. We explained him our micro business to enhance the environment by manufacturing special products for in and around the Home/Garden by using reclaimed roofing slate and matching pieces found in Nature. After explaining our very successful and much admired window feeder we handed him number 2000! Sold already internationally around the globe to Slate & Nature enthusiastic ‘bird communicators’ living in Johannesburg (Africa), Brazil, Finland, New Zealand up to California and multiple destinations in the USA. We have now developed the ‘flat-pack’ version in stainless steel, to be launched in the 2nd half of this year (2014)

Slate & Nature; enjoying the environment.
Versatility that’s driving Slate & Nature; one day its endless producing (blasting music, slate dust everywhere, mind on zero) the other day a nice engraving project (classic music, sunny countryside, dreaming ‘motorcycling’ away). Gerard finished this house sign 2 days ago and it is already on the post. All kind of engraving services available & all our engravings are done by hand, so all fonts and images are possible, just contact us.

Friday, Saturday & Sunday we are in Gosforth Racecourse Newcastle uo Tyne to show our Spring Collection of Slate Products. Amidst High Street Brands, Slate & Nature has acquired a prime spot and created a special display. Already a lot of ‘head-turning’ by my ARIEL 1938……
